Field Crop Supervisor and Reporting

Central Mexico and United States


Field Crop Supervisor will coordinate and report field activities in conjunction with Suppliers, Distributors, Growers, Seed Companies whom are affiliated in programs with Lipman Family Farms – The Produce Exchange in Mexico and the United States defined by season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Areas- regions of activities performed and not limited to states in Central Mexico.
  • Field and protected culture included in activity scope of in Crop supervision reporting.
  • Establish competent working relationships with Lipman Family Farms Growing/Distributing partners.
  • Maintain established working relationships with field engineers-seed company technicians-packing house foreman teams.
  • Manage execution of product specifications at point of origin Field/Packing House.
  • Coordinate and develop protocols when applicable of licensed seed material with seed company technicians, and grower’s assigned engineers.
  • Coordinate frequent field activities reporting to appropriate teams at Lipman Family Farms supply, branded, product managers, field operations as needed and defined.
  • Performance reporting of crops seeding, transplants, yields, harvest pack outs, disease, weather.
  • Establish and maintain definitive scheduled calendar of yearly seeding, transplanting, and harvest schedules of growing regions in Mexico.
  • Develop task with working teams associated with crops supervision, supply, branded, product managers, and field operations.
  • Field performance reporting, branded group leader, product manager, field operation supervisor.
  • Required to travel. Short stays 1-3 weeks, in multiple states in central Mexico territory.

  • A. A. or B.S. in Horticulture, Agronomy, or closely related technical field or experiential equivalent in an industry.
  • One or more years of experience in a closely related technical support role and at least two years hands-on experience in greenhouse, farm grower operations and/or seedling production.
  • Able to plan, direct and execute field farm operations such as sowing, planting, pruning, harvesting, crossing, seed extractions and pesticide applications.
  • Understanding and experience in production agriculture.
  • Proficient in the use of a database and Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, Word and Access plus label printing. Exposure to using a database is preferred.
  • Spanish, advance English language proficiency. Must be fluent in the English language both written and spoken with bilingual skills (Spanish/English) being highly desirable in order to direct coworkers and contract labor. Ability to follow oral and written directions; read; understand; analyze; track; interpret; apply and explain complex or technical policies, procedures, codes, regulations and make recommendations. Ability to create computer based spreadsheets, reports, labels, protocol sheets and similar data files. Ability to effectively present information in both private and public forums and respond to questions from groups, managers, collaborators, customers, and employees.
