Corporate Branding Innovation Chef

We are looking for an Executive Chef, Innovation candidate with food R&D and commercialization experience, either in a chain or in food-service manufacturing. This candidate will ideally have a culinary degree from a reputable culinary school. Additionally, they must have experience working creatively in a collaborative environment owning work product collectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market data to identify emerging trends
  • Ability to interpret consumer needs and/or behaviors that will lead to product innovation and/or renovation of current products
  • Remains current on industry and consumer trends and knowledge; leads team in the development of on-trend, competitively superior food and delivers food news
  • Continuously learning, tasting, exploring, vetting and researching food ideas, concepts, and relating them back to relevant ideas for Lipman’s Fresh Cut brand
  • Continually assess and monitor competition, trends, and vendor ideations to create compelling concepts and platforms product innovation recommendations
  • Able to communicate concepts clearly throughout the innovation and commercialization process
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to execute field tests and programs
  • Ensures the consistent application of culinary development standards, processes, and established methodologies
  • Supports testing, refining, evaluation, and implementation of preparation techniques, processes, or tools for existing or new product development
  • Experience with designing and developing a test kitchen.
  • Experience with managing and budgeting a test kitchen
  • Able to develop innovative concepts that’s in line with the customer needs and our core scope ingredients
  • Participates in development and accuracy of documentation of recipes and recipe costing and procedures
  • Ensures new products and culinary equipment support operations excellence

  • Highly functioning knowledge of recipe development, including yielding, costing, and nutrition

  • Consumer food product development; with minimum of 3 years in a cross-functional (formula, package and process) role

  • Creativity, culinary aptitude and a passion for working with food
  • Expertise in consumer food trends and the ability to identify and define key product quality and sensory attributes
  • Solid understanding of consumer food products brand management
  • Understanding of the private label retail food business environment and metrics

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience:
    • Culinary Arts and/or Culinology (with experience in at least one of the following: restaurant, food service environment or product development)
    • Additionally, some Food science background is beneficial


  • 1+ year experience with a commercial food manufacturing company preferred
  • Retail Food Service experience a plus
  • Experience in teaching non-culinary professionals a plus
  • 3+ years of related experience
